With days full of meetings, deadlines, strategy, and video shoots, it can be easy to lose sight of the bigger picture, to see how far you've come and how much you've grown over the last year. In just 365 short days we make tons of little choices that add up to a greater whole. At StoryTeller, we have had a year full of moments that are worth remembering, worth celebrating. So we just wanted to take the time to look back at what we've accomplished this year and none of it would be possible without our amazing clients, partners, followers, and supporters.

Gaining New Traction

In late 2015, the StoryTeller leadership team began laying the groundwork for our company to implement Traction, an operating system for businesses. In January, our whole team began the process to fully implement the Entrepreneurial Operating System, also known as the EOS.

If you’re familiar with the book “Traction” by Gino Wickman, you know that the EOS is designed for small businesses that are targeting growth through accountability, alignment, and communication. Ed, Kathy, and Gregg continued to work with EOS implementer Justin Cox, owner and founder of Arthur Wayne Consulting, to maximize the effectiveness of the Traction process in all aspects of our business.

Our Big Move

In February, we packed up our boxes and moved out of our old office building in Bloomington, and we are loving our new office space in the West End area of St. Louis Park. Our building is a former warehouse that has 20-foot ceilings and giant windows that provide us with lots of natural light.

This year we really focused on getting everything set up and functional for our working space, but we have big plans for transforming the space over the course of the next few months. We are working with interior designer Diane Lidenberg, to help us create a vision that will help take our office to the next level.

Expanding Our Team

This year we added some great new members to the StoryTeller team, five of them in fact! If you haven't met them yet, take a minute to get to know these new rockstars on our team:

Our Amazing Partners

We consider ourselves to be extremely fortunate to have so many amazing partners and clients. In 2016, our video team worked with over 30 companies to create more than 200 videos that were used for video blogs, fundraisers, recruitment, website pages, and much more.

We also added 7 new content marketing clients! Their businesses include a wide range of industries including advertising, healthcare, manufacturing, retail and B2B services. We've loved getting the chance to work with new marketing teams, learn new content matter, capture video blogs, and create successful campaigns this year.

Jim Chalmers and Our 4th Regional Emmy Award

At StoryTeller, it is our passion to tell great stories that inspire people to action. In 2016, our team had the opportunity to capture the story of Jim Chalmers, an amazing individual who is using his ability to run to inspire others to action in his community.

This amazing story was nominated for a 2016 Regional Emmy Award and won! We are so grateful that Jim allowed us to tell his amazing story. A huge congratulations to Kari Jo and Rob on all their work that led this award-winning video.

INBOUND 2016

As HubSpot Gold Partners, we've attended our fair share of HubSpot events. From monthly Minneapolis HUG meetings to the Annual HubSpot Partner day, these events are great for connecting with other HubSpot agencies to learn, ideate, and grow. But HubSpot's 2016 INBOUND conference was a year that will stand out in our memory. Ed got two amazing opportunities to get involved in a new way this year. The first was being asked to speak in a breakout session about video — with tons of great feedback and comments from people who attended.

The second opportunity was being featured in an Agency Partners video that showcased companies who have created a niche for themselves. Ed got a chance to fly out to HubSpot and be a part of this video with 2 other business owners. Check it out here:

That's a Wrap!

Overall, 2016 has been a great growing and building year for the StoryTeller Team and we are excited to see the hard work of this year continue to pay off in 2017. We have lots of new things happening in the next year (but that's more for another day). Thank you again to all of our clients and partners for all of your support this year, we wouldn't be able to do what we do without you.
